    Responsibilities

    The Energy Finance Underwriting Associate will:

     

    • Support new business efforts by assisting relationship managers with client related marketing activities
    • Participate in the internal credit approval process with the preparation and presentation of credit approval materials
    • As a member of the deal underwriting team, support the loan closing and deal execution process
    • Assist with the due diligence process to review loan documentation and consultant’s reports and participate in related discussions with the borrower/client
    • Build pro-forma cash flow models to evaluate projected financial results
    • Evaluating financial statements, historical trends, projections, management experience, industry performance, capital structure and collateral analysis
    • Work with capital markets to facilitate distribution of broadly syndicated project finance transactions
    • Monitor portfolio accounts, including tracking reporting requirements, testing financial covenants, and preparing quarterly and annual portfolio review memos
    • Performing various departmental functions, including financial statement spreading, risk rating, and audit preparation
    • Perform special projects as requested by senior management

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years credit underwriting or portfolio experience in Project Finance
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or related field highly preferred
    • Highly proficient in MS Excel (including financial modeling), Word, and PowerPoint
    • Confident and effective communicator (both verbal and written)
    • Ability to work both individually and within a team environment
    • Ability to meet deadlines, strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
    • Completion of a formal credit training program a plus
