    Banking Operations - Retirement Specialist II

    • Review and process retirement requests received through various channels including US mail, Fax and inner-branch, in support of the Call Center and branch customers for a multiple bank environment.
    • Perform follow-up actions on transactions with the objectives of completing the appropriate transactions and ensuring the proper paperwork is received.
    • Properly document actions taken on requests and if necessary communicate any issues to the Call Center representatives/branches following department guidelines.
    • Communicate with internal and external customers via phone and/or email if required to verify instruction or confirm transactions.
    • Review work for accuracy and compliance with department guidelines and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Rules and Regulations.
    • Demonstrate understanding of the bank's systems and training documentations supporting Individual Retirement Account (IRA) transactions.
    • May be asked to assist with reviewing and processing of Legal transactions, i.e. Death Payouts to beneficiaries.
    • Handle phone calls on a regular basis and demonstrate a high level of ability to multi-task by completing work in-between phone call interruptions.
    • Process deposits (checks and wires) and process distribution requests (Wires, checks, transfers, fees, and federal and state withholdings).
    • Research and perform Required Minimum Distributions (RMD), beneficiary changes, and government reporting corrections for 1099Rs and 5498s.


    • Basic Knowledge of Retirement Accounts (Traditional, Roth, and SEP)
    • Minimum 2-3 years of Teller Experience/New Accounts
    • Working Knowledge of deposit, withdrawal, and general ledger transactions
    • Basic Knowledge of banking products & services
    • Understanding of basic accounting principles
    • Basic computer skills, including the use of Work, Excel, and MS Outlook
    • Customer Service Skills
    • Must have at least a HS Diploma/GED
