    The Business Risk Manager (BRM) will work with the Commercial Finance lines of business to implement and execute the required risk controls. The BRM will report directly to the Commercial Finance President. The BRM is responsible for assessing and effectively managing risks, designing and implementing controls, and monitoring controls to ensure they are working effectively to manage risk across Commercial. BRM will interface with Product, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, IT and other functional teams to drive comprehensive and consistent implementation of regulatory and corporate risk policies and programs across Commercial.
    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Establish the Commercial line of business risk management strategies and programs

    • Lead the implementation of the enterprise first line of defense framework

    • Lead the identification and assessment of risks utilizing the appropriate risk assessment infrastructure (RCSA, Product Risk Assessments etc.)

    • Lead the design and execution of effective controls within the business unit, including documentation & control monitoring

    • Partner with Product, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, , IT, and other functional teams to identify risks, maintain compliance standards and mitigate risks

    • Leverage demonstrated proven knowledge of treasury management products, services and processes to design and implement key risk controls appropriate to this product set

    • Provide expert support and advise the business on risk identification and issue management

    • Lead the facilitation of risk assessments as directed by the second line of defense and be the single point of contact for second line functions

    • Manage master project schedule related to business unit audits, reporting, findings/recommendations, corrective actions and changes

    • Monitor and track Business Unit risks and ensures timely execution of remediation plans. Also supports the management and timely remediation of Issues / Findings (Regulatory, Audit & Compliance)

    • Conduct risk management / compliance training as needed to ensure resources have the knowledge and skills to implement risk management practices and controls for their relevant processes

    • Provide a conduit to escalate risks requiring Senior Leadership / Risk review

    • Identify regulatory changes, emerging risks and escalates through the appropriate channels

    • Provide guidance and advice to senior leader concerning risks and risk management practices

    • Educate, consult and support managers and supervisors on all matters relating to risk, including resolution of risk issues as appropriate

    • Ensure risk events/issues and corresponding action items are effectively remediated, documented and reported in a timely matter

    • Manage processes to maintain business unit polices in compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations



    • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 15 years of experience in compliance, operational risk management

    • Direct experience with treasury management products and other commercial banking products

    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills

    • Excellent operational execution skills (development of risk artifacts, reports and communications)

    • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

    • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

    • Dedicated team player

    • Ability to collaborate, negotiate, influence and build consensus across the organization.
