    Responsibilities

    The Underwriter’s primary responsibilities are to support the Head of Portfolio in the monitoring of existing exposure and the adjudication of new relationships that originate the exposure, according to CIT risk appetite and policy and procedure, across the Equipment Finance Small Ticket platforms.

    • Adjudication of new vendor relationships in alignment with CIT risk acceptance criteria
    • Completion of annual vendor reviews adhering to CIT’s review policy
    • Completion of annual customer reviews adhering to CIT’s credit policy and risk grading criteria
    • Review and proactive monitoring of performance of vendor relationships
    • Understand the risk aspects of a Vendor centric model and the downstream impacts of reliance and correlation risk
    • Preparation and assessment of monthly risk management reports
    • Participation in external Third Party Servicing audits
    • Assessment of portfolio trends such as loss origination and grade migration
    • Assistance with Fraud identification and prevention

    Qualifications

    • College graduate preferred
    • 1-3 years previous work experience in an analytical role, credit, leasing or banking equivalent experience
    • Demonstrated success in college, if applicable
    • Demonstrates initiative/confidence and is decisive
    • Working knowledge of financial statements
    • Ability to analyze a set of data and understand trends
    • Ability to work effectively in a self-directed, team-based environment
    • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of IT systems and packages such as Word, Excel and Access Microsoft Products
