    Responsibilities

    AVP, Finance Academy

     

    The Finance Academy is part of the controllership function at CIT and facilitates the development and delivery of training to share knowledge and best practices across the group. The successful candidate will report to the Vice President of the Finance Academy and be a key strategic contributor to the success of training and development initiatives.

     

    Job Responsibilities:

     

    • Actively participate in development of overall strategic goals of the Finance Academy and in managing the implementation of programs to achieve its objectives.
    • Manage process of course development and the subject matter experts who present the course material.
    • Collaborate on determining and managing training needs, development and implementation within the department, cross-functionally within the Controller's areas, and with outside groups such as HR, IT, Internal Audit, Risk and Treasury. 
    • Utilize and manage the existing learning management system to set-up, track and follow-up on training programs.
    • Develop communications and send to Controllership employees related to course classes, updates and general awareness. 
    • Manage the Finance Academy’s Intranet page and SharePoint newsfeed.
    • Manage the Finance Academy’s training council working group, consisting of representation from each group within Controllership. 
    • Manage the social committee initiative, consisting of representation from each group within Controllership.
    • Prepare periodic reports for, and be an active participant in update meetings with senior leaders.
    • Manage continuing professional education (CPE) program, including determining topics to train and administrating the award of CPE credits.
    • Prepare and manage surveys to gauge Controllership team feedback on training needs.
    • Manage key performance metrics including attendance, assessment results, WebEx reports and CPE.
    • Manage outside vendor budget.
    • Manage other programs in support of Controllership initiatives, such as town halls, finance internship program and special projects that arise.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor degree.
    • 3+ years of experience in a learning and development environment.
    • Working knowledge and experience with learning management software.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Knowledge with SharePoint and WebEx.
    • Exposure to Accounting and Finance concepts a plus.
    • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and a results-oriented approach.
    • Creative and can-do spirit. 
    • Proficiency with data collection and analysis across a variety of channels.
    • Highly collaborative with a strong work ethic.
    • Strong writing ability. 
    • Comfortable managing many diverse projects.
    • Experience managing outside vendors.
    • Proven ability to work across a broad set of stakeholders.
    • Strategic mindset with strong critical thinking skills, challenge the status quo.
    • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal competencies along with detail-oriented and problem solving skills.
