This is an ideal job for an individual who is interested in the project management, implementation and operational maintenance of various Financial/Accounting software applications.
This is an entry level position which will be responsible for documenting, designing, testing, implementing and supporting the General Ledger Accounting Application and providing supporting data to the various Financial Reporting Systems. The individual will have the ability to self-manage their own tasks and the ability to prioritize both the short and long term tasks required on a daily basis. This role will require the ability to work closely with the company’s global accounting staff and technical support staff to ensure that the existing applications are maintained and function correctly. Additionally the role will require the ability to resolve both business process and application issues through the coordination of accounting and technical resources.
The position would be ideal for an individual who has a good understanding of accounting, (1 to 2 years of experience in an accounting department or an accounting or business degree) and a desire to learn how to use, support and implement financial software applications. In addition this position will provide the opportunity to learn project management skills, within a variety of different project implementations and business process re-engineering skills . Additional skills that would be an beneficial but not essential are; experience using and accounting application skills (such as PeopleSoft, Hyperion Essbase/MDM application), international accounting application knowledge; or experience as a team member within a software application implementation project.
This position will evolve to include the ability to work on various projects while continuing to support the daily maintenance needs of the General Ledger application. In addition the future position will provide support for projects which will vary from providing new functionality to existing application to implementing new business process to converting from one financial application to the PeopleSoft General Ledger application, to upgrading the current PeopleSoft General ledger application to a new version.
