Data Center Operations provides monitoring, problem escalation, job scheduling and tape management services for the various CIT Data Centers. The Data Center Operations team monitors CIT’s IT applications 24x7x365. Brief description of responsibilities: Support and monitor production environments 24x7x365. Support daily tape library vaulting using Veritas software. Manage daily job streams using Control/M to monitor applications and submit jobs. Manage and monitor daily Unix applications using Unix commands. Use Automated Operations tool (Control/O) to code rules to enhance application availability. Perform level 1 problem determination. Escalate production issues in a timely manner. IPL Mainframe systems independently without supervision when requested. Interface with Production Support and System Administration groups. Work with Application Support teams to recover from batch and script failures. Ensure all production issues are properly recorded in Service Now. Use Service Now to generate customized reports. Look to continuously improve the department efficiency and enhance customer support. Meet or exceed Service Level Agreements. Participate in upgrades and testing of products used by department. Ensure Operations remains in compliance with SOX data center controls. Participate in offsite Disaster Recovery tests.
