Responsibilities

The VP, Market Insights will lead custom research initiatives across CIT Group for both commercial and consumer business lines. They will understand the needs of and work with business partners across the organization to identify key business challenges and strategic questions and then to subsequently drive strategic market research and insights initiatives to help inform the business direction. They will also play an important role in surfacing research and insights based content needs and activities that will elevate CIT from a thought leadership perspective.

 

The desired candidate will have a can do attitude, enjoy working in a collaborative environment and have a thirst to uncover insights that will have a meaningful impact on business decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

 

  • Manage quantitative and qualitative B2C and B2B market research projects from defining project scope, designing methodologies, and evaluating external partners, to reporting and presenting research findings. 
  • Design research studies (A&U's, segmentation, brand positioning, etc.) for both Commercial and Consumer banking businesses.
  • Work with external research and media partners to drive research driven content to appropriate audiences that will position CIT as thought leaders across the various commercial and consumer banking businesses. 
  • Deliver actionable insights and business recommendations.
  • Integrate advanced analytics into custom research solutions plus communicating the value proposition of new techniques, formulating recommendations and action plans 
  • Package analytic and research insights into compelling executive-ready presentations
  • Socialize insights across CIT makeing connections between business partners where relevant, and leveraging the latest technology to make insights sharing and knowledge management more intuitive

 

Qualifications

 

  • The ideal candidate has 10+ years of relevant insights and research experience
  • 2+ years of Financial Services experience preferred, within both B2B and B2C space ideal
  • Excellent analytical Skills
  • Ability to think critically and to identify the right research required for different types of questions
  • Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information, including database analytics, digital analytics, market research and competitive intelligence, etc. into integrated analyses that provide tactical and strategic recommendations
  • Communication/ Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to structure/ deliver strategic presentations clearly and crisply both in written form and in front of audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with proven ability to champion recommendations and influence decisions at all levels of management
  • Track record of establishing effective cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels in a highly collaborative environment
  • Project Management
  • Experience defining the scope and issues for analytics, reporting, research, etc.
  • BA/BS required, MBA preferred
