    Assistant Vice President (AVP) role within the CIT headquarters in Livingston, New Jersey. The role will be responsible for performing internal audit engagements covering Risk Management areas (credit risk, operational risk, etc.). The individual would have a highly visible role in performing engagements including evaluating internal controls, performing and documenting audit test work, communicating audit issues to management and identifying and recommending emerging areas of risk or opportunities for more effective and efficient audit processes. Specifically:
    • Audit planning and testing, including process and controls review, documentation of workflow, controls testing and observations/issues
    • Participate in other audit activities such as annual risk assessments, audit planning, control evaluation, reporting, documentation and verification of issue closure as needed
    • Build productive relationships with internal audit team members and stakeholders
    • Perform quality audit work ensuring that all work complies with departmental standards and policies
    • Perform continuous monitoring to recognize patterns and trends with risk and controls implications; and to identify emerging risks and develop test procedures to cover these risks
    • Keep updated on evolving regulatory requirements impacting areas covered and
    • Keep up with professional development through continuing education


    • Primary requirement - specific knowledge in implementing or testing Credit Risk Management
    • Secondary requirement - knowlege in executing Enterprise Risk Management process or audits - concentration in Operational Risk Management, Risk Identification and or Risk Appetite
    • Ability to clearly articulate both in written & verbal form & demonstrate appropriate and effective business writing • Ability to multitask, prioritize and operate effectively in a changing environment a must
    • A self-starter, someone who shows initiative and looks for ways to improve or enhance existing processes
    • Ability to understand and document a process and identify control strengths and weaknesses
    • Demonstrates skepticism in all situations
    • Good interpersonal skills; approaches people with tact and respect
    • Strong analytical, project management and organizational skills
    • Undergraduate Degree Credit, Accounting or related discipline
    • 8 years of relevant internal audit or public accounting experience; relevant experience in a regulated bank environment or equivalent industry
    • Professional certification or advanced degree preferable but not required (CPA, MBA. CIA, CFSA, etc.)
    • Ability to travel periodically locally and out of state as needed
