Responsibilities

 

This position is part of the external reporting and accounting policy function within the controllership function of CIT, which is a Fortune 500, public bank holding company. The accounting policy function works across the business globally to ensure accounting policies are continuously updated and communicated to the members of the accounting department. This is a great opportunity to develop your technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge while gaining senior level exposure.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Research and document technical accounting issues under US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Research and document financial, tax and regulatory reporting changes.
  • Assist with the preparation of accounting transaction memos detailing significant transactions.
  • Review and update of accounting policies.
  • Assist with preparing policy training for accounting department members.
  • Fulfill ad-hoc requests from members within the accounting department and other areas as needed.

Qualifications

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required (major in accounting preferred) 
  • CPA or equivalent license required 
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience with minimum of 4 years of public accounting preferable 
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge and research skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
